This is my first advanced class (finally!!). Ready to take on a project I've thought of doing recently. I want to focus on shooting landscapes. Man-made, natural, rural, anything right now. I'm much more interested in finding what entails making an image a landscape image versus just a scene. I hope to understand what "landscape" means in photography, as well as art mediums in general. I would like to use a wide angle lens 35mm for now, but hope to have final images done with a 4x5 as well. I hope to see how landscapes can be aesthetically pleasing, but also how they are perceived to be too "Ansel Adams" and 'done before, so try something else.' I haven't done large landscapes and large views zoomed out, I hope to understand what makes an interesting landscape and why it isn't necessarily 'beautiful' anymore. I plan to look in the library for several resources such as books, blogs, articles, anything talking about landscapes and not just with photography. I hope to find several spots to shoot a variety of different landscapes to see how successful I may be. Wish me luck with this weather they may all look the same only vary in shapes of white. :)
