Now what to do.... What's your Landscape?

NOW! After a critique with the whole class.. I need your criteria for a landscape. --->> What is your idea of the perfect landscape? Whats in it? What kind of lighting do you love? Is it 'traditional' or would you prefer and industrial, or urban landscape? Let me know!! I will send out a mass email to the class just as a reminder and also if you'd rather respond by email that is perfectly fine!

  1. How about an Urban LandScape late at night with lights everywhere but no human presence. Just completely and purely concrete, electricity and technology. Just a thought it might not be boring. Oh you can also blur if you chose to do so!

  3. A landscape that I would enjoy and prefer would include:
    abstraction
    colorful
    engaging

I really enjoy abstracted, non-traditional landscapes such as the artist Janie showed us in our small critiques! (i cant remember his name)

  4. my "ideal" landscape is different from what i think of when i think of a traditional landscape.
here are some examples of the traditional landscape painting i think of.
fiery sky. huge clouds. crazy plant life. except i always require hazy background mountains. the second link is more for the shrubbery. It's a littlle lacing in depth for me.

the kind of landscapes i like are landscapes of in-between places.
    alleyways.
    in between houses.
    book shelves.
other areas where people dont look when they walk by.

  5. I love bright blue skies, especially when they take up almost two thirds of the picture. I also love when something from the ground breaks the division of land and sky, like a huge tree reaching high with fat branches.

  6. I picture a vertical shot, involving a high contrast scene, black and white, with a lot of tall trees or maybe some taller rocks/ranges in the background, and some sort of interesting nature detail in the foreground.

  7. I'm a sucker for the blue skies with fluffy white clouds, the sun setting between two mountains, sunlight glistening in the water of the stream that reflects the gorgeous mountains...with a rainbow to top it off! I'm very disney oriented, I have a lot of younger siblings...

  8. Hey Sarah!
my favorite landscape is a beach scene with blue water and white sand and a sunset and maybe big colorful beach umbrellas and colorful beach towels on the sand. I know this is probably impossible to get but oh well, that's my favorite :) good luck!!!
